Ads Incorporated

Hello everyone, I have inserted the codes to provide you with ads. So far, most of them are about travelling, tourism, flights... However, if you don't feel comfortable with them, just let me know and I will try to delete them as soon as possible. Finally and most importantly: the ads are provided by Google, so there isn't a direct relationship ads-blog-myself. In other words, I am not responsible for their products or offers. Thanks very much for reading this!

Just a question...

Dear all, would you like this blog to have ads? If so, would you like to have ads directly related to the topics we are dealing with? If not, what type of ads would you like to receive? I am not willing to have ads, but this is not only my blog, but your blog. Please, do let me know as soon as possible. Thanks!

In Loving Memory of Pío

Dear all, one of the most sensitive, humble, hard-working, and positive persons I have ever known has passed away. I will never forget you in my memories in your village, your home. How will I ever forget your smile, your tender and loving look, your humour...I can still picture you in my mind riding a bike with your straw hat on. You took care of my grandma when she was there; you took care of my family when help was needed; you took care of me when I was a child... You are no longer here, but you will always be in our hearts. I'm looking forward to meeting you some day a long way beyond this world.

"Let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star, and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life." (John Muir)

"I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge -- myth is more potent than history -- dreams are more powerful than facts -- hope always triumphs over experience -- laughter is the cure for grief -- love is stronger than death." (Robert Fulghum)

What can literature add to your life? (I)

Reading is a necessary activity if you want to improve your reading skills, your memorization process, your understanding level, etc. However, these different reasons for reading have a teleological aspect which isn't my point here. Reading also opens you up to the opportunity of getting to know new worlds, new realities...that are shaped by the reader or, in other words, YOU. It's you who shape your reading imagination. You can create your fictional reality is a more or less complex way. It's you who unconsciously decide because reading is an individual activity. This is one of the reasons why people who read a specific book do not like its adaptation (translation?) into cinema. You have your own adaptation; the script writers have theirs; the directors have theirs; etc. Anyway, going bak to our question... Look at the different aspects and opportunities reading creates for you. Imagine if we speak about literature. You also have that wonderful world of imagination, yeah. But, apart from that, you have different parallel worlds which can also be enjoyed. For example, you can enjoy the writer's use of language and literary techniques and resources, the structure of the work itself, the ideas concealed within, etc. These are some ideas about what literature can add to your life. Summing up, literature can add lovely experiences to you life. Will you reject them?

Feelings- a small interruption

Literature is a cathartic way to express you feelings. Well, if this is so, I'm feeling really down today. It's not that I'm feeling blue, but the darkest blue you can imagine! I want to believe that when a door is closed down, another one will be opened... Again, I want to apologize for this interruption. Please, do add your comments on literature, canon... or we will start our "classes"...
